Bipolar scissors for open surgery enable cutting and preparing during simultaneous coagulation. They are ideally suited for precise point- or surface-shaped coagulation. The electrical current runs between both scissor blades in a limited tissue area. The use therefore offers more safety for the patient as compared to a monopolar scissor.
The BlackLine scissors have one bipolar connection per handle, while the bipolar scissors with blue insulation have both poles guided to the scissor blades through the same handle to make handling more comfortable for the surgeon.
